Using "C:\Program Files\emacs-20.6\bin\runemacs.exe" does not create a DOS
window for me...what are you running and how? The purpose of runemacs is to
do just that...not create a DOS win. Maybe emacs.exe is being run somehow
instead?

I have this in my .emacs which sets the Cygwin bash shell for use:
(setenv "SHELL" "bash.exe")

Ensure you have the Cygwin dirs on your path env var. You could also set
SHELL via the system/DOS/autoexec. Emacs inspects the SHELL variable for
existence, and uses cmdproxy.exe by default if SHELL is not set.

I am have installed Cygwin and gnuserv (at least I think I have).
Is it possible to set this up so I launch [nt]emacs without the
"runemacs" DOS Box?

Likewise, how do I integrate these so Cygwin Bash is my shell (from
emacs)?

Thanks
