I suppose I'm one of the offenders in not keeping publicly viewable
advice pages up to date.  If the cygwin home page FAQ's could keep up to
date and everyone would refer to those as much as possible, people might
not be led astray as often.  I've just been through checking all my
stuff, making sure that cygwin1.1.2 is doing everything which has worked
for me in the past (except for not installing on W95 when virus checking
is enabled).  My Start menu still says cygwin-1.1.0, but the standard
version of 1.1.2 has made amazing progress.
