Check the man page for man. Some variations of man (specifically the gnu version, I believe) include an option to remove formatting, obviating the necessity for piping through col -b. ==================BEGIN FORWARDED MESSAGE================== On most Unix systems: man <subject> | col -b >/tmp/manpage will create a nice editor friendly file that can be perused within your favorite editor app. There is no "col" command packaged with CYGWIN - is there a readily available alternative that comes with the package? -- Want to unsubscribe from this list?
