Subject: help! -- unable to configure source

I am unable to successfully configure the source tree from user-src and
dev-src. I get the following errors in my configuration log:

   Configuring for a i686-pc-cygwin host.
*** This configuration is not supported in the following
          subdirectories
        send-pr texinfo
(Any other directories should still work fine.)

<A whole bunch of successful configuration lines>

   Configuring opcodes...

   <Many "checking for" lines>

*** BFD does not support target i686-pc-cygwin.
*** Look in bfd/config.bfd for supported targets.
   Configure in /opt/cygwin-build/TARGET-OBJ/opcodes failed, exiting.

The scenario leading up to this situation is:

1) I just did a fresh reinstall of cygwin (full.exe) + 3/16 snapshot
(cygwin-inst-20000316) + gcc 2.95.2 (cygb20 + dev-ss + binutils).

2) Then I unpacked user-src + dev-src + cygwin-src-20000316.

3) Then I started a configure of the cygwin source tree:

   cd /usr/src/TARGET-OBJ
   /usr/src/src/configure --prefix=/usr/src/TARGET-INSTALL -v 2>&1 |
                       tee -a /usr/src/configure.log

One further possible clue (maybe I installed the snapshot wrong):

When I install snapshots, I notice that the directory structure is
different from full.exe. In particular, full.exe has:
> H-i586-cygwin32/i586-cygwin32
   but the snapshots have:
> i686-pc-cygwin
>
Am I supposed to install the snapshot as is or am I supposed to move the
stuff in i686 to the i586 directory?
