Because later on the page it has cvs echoing "sourceware.cygnus.com":

   bash$ cvs login
   (Logging in to anoncvs AT sourceware DOT cygnus DOT com)
   CVS password: anoncvs

Now, I see.  I got confused with the name of my local directory and the
"directory" on the cvs server.  Thanks!
