Subject: make of binutils and gcc on cygwin-b20 always crashes !!!

Hi there,

if have really a major problem. I am running an
i586-pc-cygwin32 host (I installed full.exe on my
Windows 95 based system).
To compile programs for my target system I want to
build a cross compiler for gcc.

I did the following :
I installed binutils-19990911-cygb20.tar.gz and
gcc-2_95_2-cygb20.tar.gz, both into
/cygnus/cygwin-b20.

Then to create a cross compiler for my particular
taget I used binutils-19990911.tar.gz and
gcc-2_95_2.tar.gz and followed exactly the steps of DJ
Delorie which can be found at :

http://www.delorie.com/howto/djgpp/linux-x-djgpp.html

when I run "configure" everything seems to be OK,
without errors. But then when I use "make" or "make
all install" it crashes with the following error
message :

[main]
C:\cygnus\cygwin-b20\H-i586-cygwin32\bin\make.exe 1001
(0) sync_with_child: child -409865 (0x1F) died before
initialization with status code 0xFFFFFFFF
[main] Make 1001 (0) sync_with_child : *** child state
waiting for longjmp

I tried nearly everything, used different files of
binutils and gcc but the make-process always fails.

Do I need any more additional things to make it work
???

I did everything exactly like in the step by step
instruction mentioned above...wherte is my fault ???

Thanks a lot for your help !!!
Andreas Kuepper
