I use it mostly for the shell and Unix-like utilities for Windows. Most of what I do is on Solaris or Linux, but, as is the case right now, I am porting a Unix service to Windows NT; I don't want to have to rewrite my make files and such. So I don't use it as a portability layer for anything but my build environment.
