Hi,
has anybody out there compiled version 4.0 of fileutils for cygwin? The
B20.1 version of cygwin that I installed came with version 3.16 of
fileutils, and I downloaded the sources of version 4.0 to give it a try. The
configure script ran with no noticeable problems, and so did the
compilation. But, during the 'make check' phase, something bad happened:
[snip]
Making check in cp
/tmp/fileutils-4.0/tests/cp
make check-TESTS
PASS: backup-1
/tmp/fileutils-4.0/tests/cp/b
PASS: no-deref-link1

PASS: no-deref-link2
PASS: no-deref-link3
PASS: backup-is-src
FAIL: same-file

make[3]: *** [check-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: *** [check] Error 2
make[1]: *** [check-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [check] Error 2
Anybody else already experienced this? Any clue why is that happening? I
just unpacked the sources, ran configure and make. My environment has
'CFLAGS=-O2 -fno-strength-reduce', to avoid potential bugs with gcc-2.95.2
optimizations as reported previously on this list.
If it is useful, I can send in the log of 'configure', and other information
such as cygcheck -s etc. The output of uname -a is:
[ /tmp/fileutils-4.0 ] uname -a
CYGWIN_NT-4.0 COSTA 22.0(0.16/3/2) 1999-11-23 09:38:16 i586 unknown
which corresponds to stock B20.1 with snapshot 19991122 on top of it.
TIA,
Andre
