Subject: cannot fork () shell problem ?
Date: Tue, 21 Sep 1999 08:01:23 GMT
Mime-Version: 1.0

Hello, I'm starting with the cygwin B20.1 recently,

I'm tryng to compile some C and C++ code on NT environment, using the cygnus
environment.
I'm using make.exe and Makefile to compile my code.

During this process I have periodically a break with the follow message:

Cannot fork .... make error.

or

bash: fork: No more processes this when I try to open other bash shell

When I have this problem is impossible open other cygnus shell (I have the
fork: No more processes message) and if I verify the active process, using
the ps -ef command, I can see a lot of active sh.exe and rm.exe process that
are inactive but present.
I have verify that when I have more of ~130 active process the cygnus bash
crash and give me the Cannot fork message.

Can someone help me ?

Thanks Luca
