Subject: B20.1: bash question

Hi,
I used Cygwin NT4.0, SP3. I'm sorry for stupid questions.

I assigned a shell variable a:
export a="lower case"
When I started rxvt by command:
rxvt -fn "Lucida Console-bold-14" -tn linux-c &
I got my shell variable a:
echo $a
lower case

I put the command in a file, let's say myxvt.
#!/bin/bash
rxvt ....

I started myxvt.

echo $a

but:
echo $A
lower case

My question:
1. Does bash decided to rename variable name in upper case?
2. Why it worked in case of command?

Thank you
Tien
