There is a GNU read only ext2 driver for NT,
it works quite well.
archie for e2fsprogs-1.12-NTx86.rar
or e2fsprogs-1.12-NT.rar (source)
This version may be slightly out of date.
ext2 "drives" can be mounted or unmounted for
cygwin just like any other.
