Subject: Sed and EOL match

In sed the end of line ($) like in

--------
s|$|"></A>|
--------

Is ONLY matching LF and not CR LF.

I get to that conclusion because when I apply the rule to
--------
caution.eps
--------

I get :

--------
caution.eps[ASNPC]"></A>[ASNPC]
--------

[ASNPC] : A SINGLE NOT PRINTABLE CHAR
[ASNPC] : ANOTHER SINGLE NOT PRINTABLE CHAR

Is that OK with you or is it a bug?

Daniel
