Subject: bash locks up before even starting

Using some of the recent (e.g. 5/28) cygwin dlls, I have experienced the
following problem:

I am able to start up several bash terminal windows successfully (via a .bat
file calling bash --login). However, after some time, when I attempt to
start up another one, it hangs after starting, apparently before executing
my .bash_profile (I echo a msg to stderr as the first statement in
.bash_profile -- and I don't see this message). I can't seem to get the
attention of this hung session, but I can close it or kill -9 it. However,
after this happens, I can't start any more terminal windows until I exit all
the way out of cygwin1.dll.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is there any way of better diagnosing what
the problem really is?
