You don't even need to port it - the zip tools will build under MSDOS.  As
far as I know, they're not GNU tools though.  You can find the source, and
probably DOS binaries as well, at

Hi,

You should be aware that the JAR file format is identical to the ZIP file
format (also known as WinZIP after the popular program of that name for
Windows). You can always use the Gnu "zip," "unzip" and "zipinfo" programs
(*not* gzip and gunzip!) to get the full range of JAR/ZIP file
functionality.

The only thing you might need that zip/unzip cannot accomodate is the "jar"
command's generation of a manifest file.

Unfortunately, my user tools installation of Cygwin does not seem to
include the zip family of programs, but they are present on my RedHat Linux
5.1 x86 installation.

Presumably they could be ported to cygwin without undue exertion, right?

I'm trying to use a
script using xargs
to create a JAR file
in java.....

xargs issues multiple
JAR commands apparently
due to the number of files
being passed to it.

each time JAR is executed
it clears out the previous
files already added.

i really need all the files
included in one JAR command.

is there anyway to increase whatever
buffer is being blown which causes
xargs to execute multiple commands?
