I'm trying to build a PC --> MIPS cross compiler. I first built the native
i586-pc-cygwin32 compiler successfully. I then did a

	"configure --program-prefix=mips-lsi-elf- host=i586-pc-cygwin32
build=i586-pc-cygwin32 target=mips-lsi-elf"

in src/gcc which completed successfully. However when I ran make, I got the
following error:

as -G 0 -O2 -g -g1 -nocpp -v -o libgcc1.o C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\ccq7JBKF.s
as: unrecognized option `-G'

There was a similar problem mentioned in the mailing list archives, but it
was related to Make mistakenly using the cross-assembler instead of the
native one. This problem seems to be the opposite.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks.
