Thanks for the serial port help. It turns out that the hardware on the w95 machine was screwed up somehow. I tried an old copy of kermit, and when that failed to work, rebooted the machine. Now kermit works, and I can read/write using open(/dev/com1), as per the docs. Thanks again -- I'll certainly have more questions as I dig further -- Steve -- Want to unsubscribe from this list?
