Hmmm....GNUmakefile is an automatically generated file, so everybody's build
will generate a different GNUmakefile. Therefore, telling me that there's an
error on line 501 of your version doesn't really tell me all that much. In my
GNUmakefile, line 501 is one of the first lines in the dependency section, and
includes explicit references to various system-paths in my environment. After
applying the patch, did you then edit the SRCDIR/hints/cygwin32.sh file to
specify the correct paths for your system? And after doing so, remember to copy
the edited version into SRCDIR as the readme_first says in step 3(d)?
