Hello,
I recently downloaded ssh 1.2.26 from Surgey's site. However, I'm =
having difficulty getting it to run. On both NT and win98 I get the =
error "You don't exist, go away!" when I type either ssh or ssh-keygen. =
If I type ssh-agent I get the error "user 500 does not exist". I'm =
running version 20.1 beta of the cygwin tools on both machines. I took =
a quick glance at the code and it looks like this error occurs in =
situations where the user id is being compared with the effective user =
id... But I don't know what results to expect for these values in an NT =
environment. when I use the 'id' command it displays user (500), but =
all users have this value.. including users on the win98 machines...
Ultimately I'm trying to get ssh to work with cvs. I did have ssh =
1.1.14 working, but I can't use it with cvs because it convert CRLF to =
LF when moving files between win32 and Unix enviroments.
I've read some archives and it seems other people have gotten ssh =
1.2.26 to work, so perhaps I'm just doing something stupid. I've tried =
to be careful however to make sure the environment is setup correctly.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks,
Byron Foster
