Test case:

1.  From the command line do:

BASH.EXE-2.02$ gcc -print-prog-name=ld

(the output follows)
c:\CYGNUS\CYGWIN~1\H-I586~1\BIN\..\lib\gcc-lib\i586-cygwin32\egcs-2.91.57\..
\..\..\..\i586-cygwin32\bin\ld.exe

2.  Now create a command file named 'configure' containing the command used
in test #1.
Then at the BASH.EXE-2.02 command prompt type:  ./configure

(the output follows)
ld
