I've found that if I do a sequence of Ctrl-C, Ctrl-Break, Ctrl-C and
then wait 15 to 20 seconds that it will usually eventually return back
to the prompt at least on my NT 3.51.  On 95 osr1, about half of the
time I'll have to abort the job (kill the task); but, at least it no
longer locks up the entire machine.
