It does work, but you need to link in CRT_noglob.o (or do the right thing 
in some other way). It's an issue of how globbing works and who does it
in the MS-DOS/Windows environment.
  
  $ gcc -o findfirst findfirst.c /egcs-1.1/i386-mingw32/lib/CRT_noglob.o
