BASH 2.01.2
CYGWINB19.DLL v b19.3
BINARY MOUNTS

Consider the following from the bash prompt

    $ a=`win32prog.exe`

The variable "a" contains the output from the program win32prog.exe which is
a win32 console application.  The output also contains a trailing ^M !!!

This should not be the default behaviour, this is supposed to be emulating
unix!

Is there a way to stop this behaviour (without changing the script)?
