Yes, I try to compile it under binary/text and not binary/text format
many times, but all failed. I also try to set the macro currdir in
texsys.cfg. but it also cause an error like:

!Missing control sequence inserted
<inserted text>
               \inaccessible

occured at other lines of the latex.ltx.

I had been compiled it successfully under Sun Solaris 2.5 

Are there other methods to solve this problem?
