Sorry if this is off-topic.

Is it possible to build a Linux cross-complier with cygwin32 gcc? or egcs?
Purpose: Compile a Linux kernel. 

case yes: How?
case no: Is it possible to build a Linux kernel without beeing on a
linux-system?
