Subject: Newbie question - is it possible to use anonymous unions within structs?

Hi there...
Many Win32 API structures contain constructs like:
typedef struct {
int foo;
union {
int bar;
int foobar;
};
} thestruct;

Is it possible to use such constructs under GCC? It makes it extremely
difficult to compile windows programs which use certain APIs if not...
(eg. mmsystem, ddraw, etc.)  :-(

TIA,
Peter
