Do you have your filesystems mounted as text=binary?  Use the "-b"
switch to the mount command to do this.  If not, your files will be
saved with \r\n line endings.  You may be able to just add "binmode"
to the CYGWIN32 variable.  Check the mail archives for more
information on text=binary.
