It appears that you've just copied bsafe.lib to libbsafe.a.  Instead
do this:

nm --defined-only --demangle bsafe.lib | grep " T " | sed -e
's/...........//' > bsafe.def

Edit bsafe.def and add a single line at the top containing EXPORTS

dlltool --dllname bsafe.dll --def bsafe.def --output-lib libbsafe.a


NOTE: nm will not work on Borland's .lib files.
