Subject: Problem with egcs not reporting missing functions

I posted a similar message earlier, but it apparently didn't get put onto
the cygwin board:

If you make a program with egcs under cygwin or ming32, and you have a
function, but no library for it, you don't get that function identified
when the error message shows up. This is a change from gcc tradition,
and it makes software development and porting less easy.

P. S. I seem to have the latest egcs for cygwin successfully compiling
ming32 programs using a slightly modified mingw32 specs.
