Alex, in case you aren't already aware of it, there is a mode for emacs for
reading man pages, by Dr Francis J. Wright, called woman. It is at:
http://www.maths.qmw.ac.uk/~fjw/public_emacs/
If you are working heavily with man pages, you might find it useful.
