The following commands seem to give the wrong output
bash$ echo x | sed 's/[^^/]*/yz/g'
yzyz
It should just be yz? (I checked on a SunOs box)
The word count for 'echo x' is correct (I thought
it might be some kind of EOL mangling).
bash$ echo x | wc
1 1 2
What's happening? Anyone?
many rgds,
Andy L.
