I have a Pentium Pro 200Mhz, biproc, with Windows NT 4.0 and have found this
anomaly under cmd.exe and bash with beta-16 executables (I have payed
attention to the fact that the correct cygwin.dll was used):
	gzip file.tar
and
	gzip -c file.tar > file.tar.gz

does not produce file of equal length. The second method gives an error if you
try to gunzip the file. Same problem with uuencode.
This problem also arise in beta-14

Is there a patch or something special to do ?

Thanks

Jean Francois Pique
