Lego Cabinet

This is a cabinet I'm making for my 7 year old son Jason, for him to keep is Lego(tm) parts in. It's a 24" cube on wheels made out of a single sheet of birch plywood (he chose that over oak).

Here you can see the drawer runners and drawers. There are eight drawers ranging from 2" to 4" apart (minus the gap between them where the runners go), which are made of pine sides and 1/4" birch ply bottoms.

Here you can see some details of the insides of the drawers, along with a demonstration of the door runners, which allow full extension of most of the drawers.

Here you can see some of the details of the door pulls. They were made back-to-back on the lathe from a single piece of birch firewood that's about 3 years old, so it's a bit spalted (and punky in a few places). They're about 3" across and 1.5" deep. Since they were made back to back, they have mirror image spalting patterns!

This is what the other half of the birch log looks like. It's 4.5" by 6". Haven't decided what to do with it yet...

Ok, I made one of these out of it.
