The purpose of this project was to scan, frame by frame, stored data from an ultrasonic heart scan (the same kind of scan that lets pregnant mothers see their unborn babies inside them). This data was then compared, frame by frame, to correlate the various parts of each frame with adjacent frames. By matching up parts in these very noisy images, the software can diagnose a number of abnormal heart conditions that would otherwise require a trained specialist.
My responsibilities in this project we to design and write all the software, including the algorithms for matching (or failing to match) specular data from frame pairs.
