<h2>8.23 GCC Cannot find <code>stubify</code>.</h2>

<p><em><strong>Q</strong>: Whenever I try to compile something, GCC says "Installation
problem, cannot exec stubify: No such file or directory (ENOENT)".  The
compiler came on a CD with one of those "Teach yourself C<tt>++</tt>"
books<small>...</small>.</em>

<br><p>
<p><strong>A</strong>:  Blame the vendor who created the CD: their installation program
failed to copy the program <code>stubify.exe</code> to your hard disk.  The
compiler needs <code>stubify.exe</code> when it links your programs.

<p>To solve the problem, find <code>stubify.exe</code> on the CD and manually
copy it into the same directory where <code>gcc.exe</code> lives.
