Bdale scheduled the geda package(s) for removal in favour of lepton-eda.=20
I protested because lepton-eda does not quite cut it for me. The GUI of
gschem received quite a few changes after the fork. Most prominent
are the docks that replace the traditional floating dialogs. Working
with hierarchies became a lot more fluent since I can simply click on a
subsheet symbol. A search for components in a hierarchy of sheets yields
meaningful results now.
I would loose most of that if I were to migrate to lepton-eda.
Bdale responded by orphaning the original geda packages rather than have
them outright removed. So I decided it is time to step up and become a
Debian maintainer myself. Right now, I try to figure the most efficient
way to get me going. (Am reading the New-Maintainers-Guide ...)
