Just nobody cares.  File format did not changed for years, so
writing down what version is stable is pointless, I believe.

OTOH, wiki is just wiki.  Some time gEDA devs thought it will help
to maintain documentation up-to-date.  Now I see lots of obsolete
useless stuff there, which even harms users searching for some
useful info.  IMO, PCB's docs, written in texinfo, are much better
in that regard.
