I don't often place components on the solder side of a board, but I have to do that today. I've drawn a footprint for a surface-mount component that has three pads. I placed it on the solder side, and the clearance in the copper pour on that side of the board is gone, the pads are in direct contact with the pour. When placed on the component side, the ring of clearance is intact as I expected. This has to be something dumb but I can't seem to figure out what's going on. Any suggestions?
