I haven't seen this even though I did a decent chunk of work with gschem
lately.

I'd say yes, please - preferably with a recipe how to reproduce the bug.
You may include your system set-up (linux distro, desktop
environment if any, exact geda version, etc.) and how you configured your
gschem UI (number and placement of tabs).

Hmm. This bug is/was triggered by resize of the window. Girvin does not
seem to resize, just work on attributes in the tab. Also, the UI and
specifically docks received quite a bit of development love between 2015
and the current release. So I'd expect a different bug population now.
