This has been done successfully before, but many PCB fabs will refuse to accept designs with overlapping drill hits. Some of the cheaper PCB fabs don't allow internal routing, but some do - you really should ask your PCB fab. It may make a difference whether the slot needs to be plated through or not, so do specify when asking.
