Thank you very much for this. It makes my life much simpler! Now is it just me or has the bahaviour of the "Insert" tool changed? A few months ago if I selected a line and used this tool, the line was easy to split into two parts, transforming a straight line into 2 45 degress segments: | to < (bad ASCII art). Now it seems to be much more reluctant in finding the "natural" points, to put it mildly. I can try to bisect the change that triggered this if nobody has an idea. On my lattop which I have not touched since early September and still has git id d46ff633fa3f700c3314a4043dc60fa40b4d827f, the problem does not happen. Gabriel
