I agree. I'm usually a one-man shop, but I agree that frobbing the netlist in between gschem and PCB would not be a clean way to do it. Sometimes I have to refer back to designs done many years ago (I've been using gEDA+PCB for about 17 years), and there's no way I'd be able to remember what I did. And making a habit of checking the design notes is frought with peril; all of the information should be contained within the schematic.
