The .sym files are generated from the .pins file by pintosym.pl [1]:

mictor38_jtagtrace.sym with generic signal names, see sec.8.2.2

 as above but with version specific signal names, see sec.8.2.1
mictor38_jtagtrace.etmv1.sym
mictor38_jtagtrace.etmv2.sym
mictor38_jtagtrace.etmv3.sym

mictor38_jtagtrace.etm3w.sym wide trace, second connector, last page of sec.8.2.2
mictor38_jtagtrace.dualcpu.sym dual processor target, sec.8.2.3
