I have added the attributes (device, footprint, refdes) in gschem. 2. I have added them as you say in hc-12.sym, but still I get: Done processing. Work performed: 1 file elements and 0 m4 elements added to board.new.pcb. I suppose that 1 file element is the picaxe. So something is missing. I am sorry, but I am not familiar with the editing of sym files (T-lines etc.), so I dont know what you mean by " you still need a suitable T line for each." Where can I read about that? torben On Wed, Mar 6, 2019 at 8:43 PM DJ Delorie wrote: > > "Torben Friis (friistf AT gmail DOT com) [via geda-help AT delorie DOT com]" > writes: > > I think it all boils down to the question of where I should put the > > following statements in hc-12.sym: > > > > device= hc-12 > > footprint=hc-12.fp > > refdes=U? > > Those go outside any pin/component clause; they could go right after the > 'v' line for example. Hi,
1. I have added the attributes (device, footprint, refdes) in gschem.=
2. I have added them as you say in hc-12.sym, but = still I get:

Done proc= essing.=C2=A0 Work performed:
1 file elements and 0 m4 elements added to= board.new.pcb.

I supp= ose that 1 file element is the picaxe. So something is missing.

I am sorry, but I am not familiar= with the editing of sym files (T-lines etc.), so I dont know what you mean= by " you still need a suitable T line for each."
Where can I read about that?

Those go outside any pin/component clause; they could go right after the 'v' line for example.=C2=A0 Of course, you still need a suitable T = line for each.

Or you could edit the symbol in gschem and add those attributes anywhere "on the background" (i.e. not part of any pin).
