I don't think so: these two examples are character devices. Our `stat' treats devices and volume labels in two different fragments of code, so it couldn't be the same class of problems, if by that you meant problems in the DJGPP implementation of library functions. OTOH, if you meant it's the same class of problems with DOS system calls, then it could well be so, although I cannot be sure, what with DOS/Windows sources being unavailable ;-).
