Ive was using Borlands Make 3.6 for gcc (version 2.2.2), and it was working as expected, very nice. Kinda slow actually, I thought, but blamed it on using an SX. The module I worked with took 26 minutes to compile! Once however, I compiled it without make. Took less than a minute! Dug up an older Borland Make 3.0... also took less than a minute! Tried Microsoft make 4.05... choked on a macro. One thing I noticed with the slower make (3.6) it reports 1494800 bytes free, but the faster make (3.0) reports 510748 bytes free. What could be the reason for this? Id think if it has more memory it might be faster, if by only a small amount?
