My problem: I want to switch between, say 800x600 graphics mode (in a portable way - device independent) and 80x25 text mode (to invoke the wonderful c:\dos\edit) and switch back to graphics mode with least backing overhead (save screen portions). I found setmode.s in libsrc/gr/src but this sets AH=0xff . I found (book on VGA, Ferraro) that there is mentioned AH=0 (Set Mode) allows to specify erasure in the highest bit of AL. Could you be a bit more specific on how to achieve what I want to do? --Chris
