There is an incredible increase in speed, as that seems to be large enough to hold the compiler and most of the standard .h's I include. BTW, I have a 386dx-20, 64k cache with 8 Mb RAM, twin 28 millisecond drives and without the disk caching, I'd probably die of frustration. Pete
