Yes, the new linker (bfd) is bigger and probably slower than the old
linker.  However, there's no going back as the old linker supported
maybe three or four platforms, and the new linker supports hundreds.
If you still feel there's cause to complain, I'm sure nobody at FSF
would mind if you got the sources and started improving them.  Since
djgpp is switching over (actually, has switched) to COFF for 1.11, the
old linker won't work any more anyway - it didn't support COFF at all.
