in order to fix this issue, I need more information so ideally I can 
reproduce it on my machine.

Can you isolate a sequence of actions that will lead to the crash?

I haven't seen the critical GLib error before, so as a second step, it 
would be helpful if you could run gschem in gdb with 
G_DEBUG=fatal-criticals and record a backtrace.
