Hierachical depency come from the source attribute and even though possible to enter manually in config file I say to automatically add from the *.sch schematics file is a better option.

Not right now, I should solder a board and try it. It get me thinking about about Makefiles where there is a special syntax to specify depencies but I think it will be stored internally only in some kind of standard tree like structure, for gtk I think there is some kind of widget to show tree like structure. If I remember correctly there is mechanism in scheme to search for attributes in schematic files but it's a long time since I tried to be able to build configuration files for linuxcnc.
